I am always glad to find those lost piano benches in yard sales. They are few and far between, and usually in need of some TLC by the time I find them. This one I simply cleaned up and painted black except the inside lid and painted it with chalkboard paint, and distressed with the sander. Put some scrapbook paper in the bottom and a coloring book, crayons and chalk.

The Chalkboard

There is something about chalkboards that I just love! The lastest ones I made are from my neighbors cabinet doors. I was out digging in the pile of wood they had in front of their house and realized that there were the "original" doors from the kitchen. Real simple but made in the late 50's. I painted the edge with spray paint and the inside part with chalkboard paint (two coats) and sanded of to show the white underneath. Drilled two holes and put twine to hang with.

Red and White pictures
The pictures we used for the header are items from my "red and white" room. This room was very fun as it came together. I was very glad to be able to use my grandmother's sewing form as a lamp. I wired it for a lamp and covered it with red and white fabric and beads, it just makes me happy to see. Thanks for checking our new site. Ann

My mom and I decided to start a blog to post pictures and write about all the junk we find or buy and fix up! Hope you enjoy it!
