There is something about chalkboards that I just love! The lastest ones I made are from my neighbors cabinet doors. I was out digging in the pile of wood they had in front of their house and realized that there were the "original" doors from the kitchen. Real simple but made in the late 50's. I painted the edge with spray paint and the inside part with chalkboard paint (two coats) and sanded of to show the white underneath. Drilled two holes and put twine to hang with.
I just wanted to say that I bought several kitchen cabinet doors that weekend at a yard sale and they where the original doors from her home built in late 50's. She asked what I was going to do with them and said probably make some chalkboards to hang. I made one and took back to her a couple days later and she was very surprised and delighted to have one.
